Poppies at the Tower

Over four million people came to see the 888,246 ceramic  poppies at the Tower of London. Each one represents a fallen Commonwealth soldier during the Great War.  They remind us of the human cost of fighting for freedom and the things we hold dear in Britain.

The Tower was built a thousand years ago by William the Conqueror, Tower Bridge a little over a century ago, and the gleaming Shard opened recently is Europe’s tallest building. I feel they are all important landmarks of London.
