Mallett at Mont St Michel
Mallett at Mont St Michel
A special place of Pilgrimage
I’ve visited Mont St Michel many times. But never arriving by bike having cycled from home.
The route around the Bay of St michael is steeped in history. This was where my Mallett ancestors originated.
See how this painting was created…..
I cycled around the Emerald coast from St Malo and from the moment the distant outcrop comes into view I’m looking for the place to paint it. There are opportunities all the way around the bay.
Including the water colour Windswept featured in the gallery. This has the distant rock of St Michael under sweeping skies.
The cycle path continues along an old railway line and comes into the flooded fields of the river valley. Behind the distant poplar trees peeks the rock.
When finally I reached the river Cousenon I headed along the raised embankment to the barrage. here is the spectacular viewing platform with space for large crowds to appreciate the scene. It’s a breezy bright late afternoon as I set to work with a limited palette….
This paitning is available now as a signed limited edition giclee print. Don’t delay buy today….
