In the middle of the Fens as you cross the Wash is Sutton bridge. Near here is where Kings John lost his jewels in 1216. Now the river Nene makes its way to the sea down carved channels in the reclaimed marshland.
The iron tracery of Sutton bridge makes it one of my favourite crossing in the country.
