Beachy head is the high point.
The access is only from Birling Gap. Here I stood on the shingle beach with my palette and paints and created this piece inspired by the travelling artists of bygone times.
Painting en plein air is a challenge and a joy. There's salty air and spray mixed with the paints and grit on the canvas from the wind.
This painting celebrates that most resiliant of songs… bluebirds are over… the white cliffs of Dover (and Sussex)
