The coastal shores of our island have inspired artists forever. Indeed Staithes in North Yorkshire is known as the artists village. It clings to the cliff edge and down the steep narrow valley to the pretty harbour.
I sat on the steps watching the sun go down one summer evening and chatted to the locals as I painted this view.
