On the coast of Galloway near Dumfries lies the ruin of Sweetheart Abbey. Built by John Balliol (of Balliol college Oxford fame) in honour of the love of his life, his wife.

Edward 1 stayed here in 1300 and now as a ruin the crows give it an atmospheric soundtrack.
