Tynemouth priory
Original watercolour (16 x 8”)Sold into private collection
Paper print mounted (same dimensions) £145
High above the mouth of the River Tyne stand the ruins of the ancient priory and castle.
It's been a place of drama throughout history including Edward II seeking refuge in times of civil war and in more recent times acting as a coastal defence station during the World Wars.
Tynemouth has attracted artists throughout the years and I was delighted to visit.
